quad splitters for cctv surveillance and security systems A Quad splitter will enable up to 4 cameras pictures to be displayed on a screen simultaneously. The main disadvantage against a multiplexer is that it will allow just one picture at a time or 4 at a quarter of the screen size to be recorder but due to it's low cost, it is ideal for home or small business use. |

A multiplexer allows simultaneous recording of multiple camera pictures on to one VCR tape providing more comprehensive recorded surveillance than with a switcher or quad splitter. Multiplexers usually have the ability to display all the camera pictures simultaneously in quad, split - screen, picture in picture or any combination of these formats to give the operator greater control over live viewing. With simplex units, only 1 VCR can be used to record or playback but duplex units can use 1 VCR to playback whilst using another to record. |
